Introduction

The annual recognition awards recognise individuals and organisations who have made outstanding contributions to the lives of those who are living with viral hepatitis and liver disease.

Three Recognition Awards were announced at our 2020 Annual General Meeting:

Mark Farmer Memorial Award

The Mark Farmer Memorial Award, honouring former Hepatitis Victoria Board Member Mark Farmer, is awarded annually to an individual with lived experience of viral hepatitis who has:

  • Shared their knowledge and experience to help others in the community living with viral hepatitis and liver disease
  • Increased community knowledge and understanding of viral hepatitis and liver disease
  • Demonstrated positive use of self-management principles in their daily lives.

Organisational Collaboration Recognition Award

TheĀ  Organisational Collaboration Recognition Award is made to an organisation from the fields of health services, community service organisations and/or research that have:

  • Made a significant contribution to reducing the prevalence of hepatitis in Victoria and/or to maximising the well-being of those living with viral hepatitis
  • Has organisational arrangements that allow it to effectively respond to hepatitis
  • Collaboratively works with Hepatitis Victoria and other organisations across the viral hepatitis sector.

Individual Contribution Recognition Award

The Individual Contribution Recognition Award is made to an individual who may or may not have lived experience of viral hepatitis, who has:

  • Made a significant contribution to reducing the prevalence of hepatitis in Victoria and/or to maximising the well-being of those living with hepatitis and liver disease
  • Inspired others to similarly contribute to the response to hepatitis in the community collaboratively worked with Hepatitis Victoria and other organisations across the viral hepatitis and liver disease sector.
