Madeline Hills

Pharmacist and Olympian

“I am passionate about promoting good health within our community. I want to help increase awareness and understanding of hepatitis and reduce stigma and fear through education.”

I have spent much of my career working as a community pharmacist around Australia. My experiences working within many diverse communities led me to a Masters of Public Health, with a particular interest in helping to improve health within some of our marginalized communities.

I have been involved with Hepatitis Victoria through the youth education program Street Shot, as well as delivering professional development for pharmacists.

My focus on health and wellbeing extends beyond my career as a pharmacist, with my free time spent running around the globe as a professional distance runner.

Why is it important to get the message out?

Hepatitis doesn’t discriminate and neither should we. By encouraging education, access to health services and awareness, let’s embrace our diversity, stop stigma and promote healthy living in our communities.

Madeline’s message to others

Encourage discussion, break down barriers and stop stigma – be educated, be compassionate and help each other to work towards living healthy, happy lives.
