Volunteer of the Month, September 2017
I am a Youth worker, Drug and Alcohol worker who has worked within community and supported health research work overseas. I am also an instructor in Yoga Nidra which is a form of relaxation and meditation.
What inspired me to become a Hepatitis Victoria volunteer?
I wished to volunteer in an area of health that interested me and allowed me to support any constructive response in regards community engagement and liver health.
My favorite Hepatitis Victoria moments.
The televised interview with international blogger Karen Hoyt at the 2018 AGM revealed; the power of individuals to overcome health and financial issues, the power of social media to make a difference and spread good support and information, and it also highlighted the difference between countries response to supporting persons with liver disease. Was very inspiring and reaffirmed volunteer participation.
What tips do I have for new volunteers?
Enjoy volunteering as is a great way to be contribute–be updated with current response, promotion, education and training, and it’s fantastic for team involvement, community engagement and for personal experience.
