Wave of appreciation for volunteers

May 20, 2020

National Volunteer Week provides a focus point to extend our gratitude to the range of volunteers that have contributed so significantly to the work of Hepatitis Victoria/LiverWELL over many years.

We are fortunate to have the support of volunteers from all walks of life; people with a lived experience of viral hepatitis, medical and business professionals, as well as students. To you all we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.

And there is much for which to be thankful. In this financial year alone, our volunteers have dedicated more than 225 days of their enthusiasm, time, energy and skills to support the needs of people affected by or at risk of viral hepatitis and liver disease.

“Without the significant and tangible contribution of our volunteers, Hepatitis Victoria/LiverWELL would not be able to make the impact it does,” says CEO, Melanie Eagle. “On behalf of the Board and staff I would like to thank each and every volunteer for their continued contribution and commitment.”

This year we have adapted how we demonstrate our appreciation to accommodate the current circumstances.

Our annual Cheers Volunteers event will move online (more information coming soon).

Check out the Hepatitis Victoria/LiverWELL team sending thanks as part of Volunteering Australia’s #waveforvolunteers campaign, posting social media pictures waving appreciation from our home offices.

While this week provides a point in time to recognise the contribution of volunteers, the Volunteer of the Month provides a regular opportunity to showcase people and achievements. View the recipients and if please get in touch if you have an interest in joining our team of wonderful volunteers.
